Before you rely on the date

• Check whether your contract counts calendar days or business days, and whether notice must be received or just sent by that date.
• Check how notice must be given (email, letter, certified mail, a named address). Keep proof that you sent it.
• When in doubt, send notice early. Notice that arrives early is rarely a problem.
